The application includes tools for creating database backups and restoring an existing archive when required.
Users can select or change the database location at any time. Uninstalling the application does not automatically delete the archive database because it remains stored in the location selected by the user.
After reinstalling the software, the previous database can be selected and used again.

📘 Installation and Usage Instructions

🚀 Install the Application

1. Open the ###strong/strong### folder.
2. Open the Client installer folder.
3. Run NovaArchive_Setup.exe.
4. Complete the installation steps.
5. Launch the application from the desktop shortcut or Start menu.

🔑 Activate the Application

1. Launch the application to open the activation window.
2. Copy the displayed Machine ID.
3. Send the Machine ID to the software administrator or reseller.
4. Enter the activation code you receive.
5. Click the activation button to start using the application.

🗂️ Create a New Database

1. Select the option to create a new database.
2. Choose a secure location for the database file.
3. Create a strong password and store it safely.###li/li###

⚠️ Keep the database location and password safe because they are required to access the archived files.

♻️ Open an Existing Database

1. Select the option to open or restore an existing database.
2. Choose the previously saved database file.

💾 Backup and Restore

1. Open the application settings.
2. Select the database backup option.
3. Save the backup outside the application installation folder.
4. To restore it, select the restore option and choose the saved database.

Regular backups are strongly recommended when storing important documents.

🧑‍💼 Reseller and License Generation Instructions

1. Open the License activation program folder.
2. Run LicenseGenerator.exe.
3. Enter the customer’s Machine ID.
4. Select the license validity period in days.
5. Generate the activation code.
6. Send the code to the customer for use in the activation window.

⚠️ Enter the Machine ID exactly as displayed, without changing it or adding extra spaces.

🎨 White-Label Customization Instructions

1. Open FileArchiveManager.sln using Visual Studio 2022.
2. Update the application name and interface text.
3. Replace the icon inside the Assets folder.
4. Edit the publisher and product information in installer.iss.
5. Review the included English customization guides before rebuilding.

🛠️ Build Instructions

Quick Build

1. Install .NET 8 SDK.
2. Install Visual Studio 2022 with the .NET Desktop Development workload.
3. Run build.bat.
4. Wait for the build process to finish.
5. Check the generated publishing folder.

PowerShell Build

Run the following file using PowerShell:
build.ps1

Build with Visual Studio

1. Open FileArchiveManager.sln.
2. Select Release mode.
3. Select the x64 architecture.
4. Build or publish the project.
5. Test the generated application before creating the installer.

📦 Create the Windows Installer

1. Install Inno Setup 6.
2. Open installer.iss.
3. Verify the published application paths.
4. Update the product name, publisher, and icon when required.
5. Click Compile to generate the Setup file.
6. Test the installer on another Windows device before distribution.

✅ Uninstalling the application does not automatically remove the archive database.
✅ Keep the database password in a secure location.
