ScopeChange is a local-first change order management web application built for contractors, service businesses, and project teams that need to turn a discussed change into a clear written record.
The guided seven-section workflow captures project and party details, the requested change, its effects, pricing information, and optional user-defined taxes. ScopeChange calculates the amounts, provides a complete review step, and generates a clean final document that can be printed or saved as a PDF directly from the browser.
A searchable change order register keeps documents organized by status. Business settings, project information, and change records are stored locally with IndexedDB and remain available after refreshing the application.
ScopeChange requires no backend, user account, subscription, database server, or external API. Users can download a complete JSON backup, import or restore their records, review the local privacy policy, and delete all locally stored data.
The application is an installable progressive web app with offline support. The package includes editable React 19, strict TypeScript, and Vite source code, English documentation, setup instructions, sample data, and a production-ready build.
ScopeChange 1.0.0 is intentionally local-first. Records do not automatically synchronize between different browsers or devices.

Installation and development:

1. Extract the downloaded ZIP file.
2. Open a terminal in the extracted ScopeChange folder.
3. Run: npm install
4. Run: npm run dev
5. Open the local URL displayed in the terminal.

Production build:

1. Run: npm run build
2. Upload the contents of the generated dist folder to any compatible static web host.
3. To test the production build locally, run: npm run preview

Using ScopeChange:

1. Open Business settings and enter the provider information and optional tax settings.
2. Select Create change order.
3. Complete the seven guided sections.
4. Review the calculated amounts and document information.
5. Open the final document and select Print & Save as PDF.
6. Use Backup & privacy to download a complete JSON backup or restore existing ScopeChange data.
