  This is not the first time I installed a script. I have tried to install this both on localhost and and on an actual server. It has failed in both places twice. In both cases I was installing in a folder under the primary domain. I get a 404 page at mydomain/forum/ . Tried it through a free prxy with the same results.
  
  The config file appears to correctly written. Except when the 404 page shows goback and homepage buttons link to the primary domain.

  The app was optimized for Apache/LiteSpeed, but I'm assuming you're using Nginx. In that case, please follow the instructions provided in the documentation.
  
  PS: the app cannot be installed in subfolders (only the main domain, or subdomains).

  I am happy to report that the scripts work fine when installed in the main domain. It appears to be a very nice discussion board. One quick question: Can I add something like this to the htacess file without breaking things DirectoryIndex offline html index php
  Periods removed cause this site crashed when I tried to send this earlier this morning.

  A way to take the forum offline while I do something like change the categories to things I choose.
  
  Also I am going to leave you a very positive review for a well written set of scripts. Two things I think you might consider for the next update;
  1. Allowing category name changes from "admin": a lot of buyers would not be comfortable using phpmyadmin to change the names.
  2. An image upload option so that users do not have to host their images elsewhere. I think I have a handle on how to do this one.

  The easiest way to take the forum offline is to rename the 'index.php' file to something like 'index2.php', and upload an 'index.html' file like this one https://firy.io/bjlyvvk that will display a nice maintenance page. Once you're done, just revert the file name to 'index.php'
  
  1. Yes, I have this on the list for a future update.
  2. Delicate one. One of the reasons I didn't include this when designing the application, was the fact that such an option is a bit hard to manage nowadays. A lot of porn spammers will create accounts and flood your app with explicit images, ruining your domain's reputation. Will need to think more about this.

  I have seen InBefore but that script is bad. Your script is great and has many features but very bad front design.
  You can try selling on CodeCanyon marketplace if you want hundreds of sales. Can you create a front design that looks like popular site ukr.net, only posting news links to external news websites?

  Hello, do you do custom work? Is there a direct way to contact you?
  Can you create a new script that only links to outside news sites like ukr.net, where you have featured news section at the top and below you have news sections sorted by categories and date.
  You will make a lot of new sales if you can make this script.

  Please note that what you're asking for is a completely different platform. A dev price to build such a system would be around $1000.
  "A lot of new sales" is relative on Codester, as the platform isn't as relevant as it once was, so it's not worth the resources invested for just 2-3, $30 sales...
  
  However, there is something similar to what you need, just search for "InBefore - News Aggregator" on Google. Thank me later

  Can you add in next version a news only submission website design that looks identical to very popular headline only news sites like news.ycombinator.com or drudgereport.com.
  Can you add the URL in the title of external news links and disable all comments.

  Since ProBB was inspired by news.ycombinator.com, it already supports all its features and more, in a better - more modern way: https://i.ibb.co/212hxSmn/home.png
  So yes, the URL can be added in the title, it's just disabled in our Demo. Everything can be set up in the Admin panel.
  
  Currently, comments can only be disabled by Admins and Mods, by manually locking each topic, or directly by modifying the code and removing the comments section.

  Other than the already available screenshots on the product page, there isn't much to show on the Admin side, as we designed it for speed and ease of use, basically being a one-page section.
