  Hello,
  I’m currently facing an issue with the Gemini API rate limits.
  Even though I have already enabled billing for my project, the RPD (Requests Per Day) limit is still capped at 100. This is causing major interruptions for my Text-to-Speech website, as users are unable to generate audio once the limit is reached.
  
  Could you please let me know how I can increase the RPD limit or request a higher quota?

  The more I use the script the more I really like your work!
  
  There should be no issue installing in a subdirectory like example.com/ai-voice-studio/, correct? Just set the correct URL in config.php? In theory looks like even a subdomain should work.
  
  Wanted to ask first, not wanting to buy another domain name, have plenty of them already

  However, my question isn't fully answered yet. I know I'm using the free user version and Gemini uses a symbol system, but I'd like to know why the script can't generate output even for texts under 2,000 characters, while the documentation specifies a limit of 10,000 characters.
  
  Also, I'm currently unable to contact the support team directly, so I'm writing here in the comments.
  
  If there's an easier or preferred way to contact support, please let me know—it would greatly help me resolve this issue faster.

  but it doesn’t seem to generate even 2,000 characters — I keep getting an error message when I try longer text. Could you please check why this is happening? Is there an internal limit lower than 10,000 characters?

  Please, i emphasize you are using the initial release of this project that does not control free usage of the api. this will be a big issue for you..

  I’ve noticed an issue with the character limit in the AI Voice Studio script.
  Although the script states that the maximum limit is 10,000 characters, I’m getting an error even when using 9,000 or even 4,000 characters.
  
  Could you please check if there’s an internal limit lower than 10,000 or if this might be related to the Gemini API token limit?

  The thing is Gemini uses token system and not characters. We there is not defined character limit for the API

  Note that the Gemini APIs have rate limit depeding on wether you are on free tier or paid tier. https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/docs/rate-limits#tier-1 This is the exact reason why this project was upgraded to Saas. But i see you are still using the initial release that gives users complete free acess. This will definitely leads to quick rate limits. I suggest you download and reinstall the saas version were you can limit the numbers of free generations

  When the API key reaches its rate limit, does it automatically recover after some time, or does it become permanently unusable?
  I just want to understand whether I need to generate a new key every time the limit is exceeded or if it will start working again after a cooldown period.

  The rate limit is temporary and typically applies in a few ways:
  
  Requests Per Minute (RPM): If you exceed this limit, you will be blocked for the remainder of that minute, but access will automatically resume when the minute is over.
  
  Tokens Per Minute (TPM): If you exceed the maximum number of tokens you can send/receive in a minute, you'll be blocked until the minute rolls over.
  
  Requests Per Day (RPD): If you exceed this limit, you will be blocked for the rest of the day, and the limit will reset at a specific time, often midnight Pacific Time (PT).
  
  Key takeaway: Your API key does not become permanently unusable. It will automatically recover based on the specific limit you hit (minute-based or daily-based).

  Hi,
  Here’s what I did so far to set up the API:
  
  1. I created a Gemini API key from Google AI Studio.
  
  
  2. Then, I created a Google Cloud account using the same email address.
  
  
  3. I linked my Visa card to the Google Cloud account and enabled billing.
  
  
  4. After that, I added my Gemini API key to the script configuration.
  
  
  5. However, when I try to generate speech, I still get the error:
  
  > “An error occurred while generating speech. Please try again.”
  
  
  
  
  
  Could you please check if the script requires a Google Cloud API key instead of the one from google AI Studio?

  The API need is from Google AI Studio.
  1- Got here https://aistudio.google.com/app/projects
  2- Create a project and setup billing
  3- Next to to https://aistudio.google.com/app/api-keys
  4- Click "Create API Key" Select the created project you have enabled billing for and generate an API key

  Hi,
  The site was working perfectly after setting up the Gemini API key and billing, but recently when generating speech for long text (close to 10,000 characters), it shows the message:
  
  > “An error occurred while generating speech. Please try again.”
  
  
  
  I tried shortening the text, and it worked fine — so it seems the issue happens only when the input text is too long.
  Could you please check if the backend can split large text automatically into smaller chunks before sending it to the Gemini API?
  That should fix the error for long inputs.
